Top 10 Anime Heroines of 2017!

Another year has come to an end, so it’s the perfect time to reflect on all the awesome anime we had the pleasure of watching. Anime!Anime! asked Japanese netizens in a poll from Dec. 27 to 29 about voice actors who debuted in 2017, greatest anime songs, and the most outstanding heroes and heroines of the past year.

Male and female audiences were roughly equally represented at 55% and 45% with fans under 19 making up 60% of the voters and fans in their 20’s taking another 25%. Let’s see the results!

And now, let’s see the top 3 heroines for 2017!

3. Asuna, Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale

As one of the protagonists of Sword Art Online, Asuna is not only kind and supportive, but is also an extremely accomplished gamer. With Ordinal Scale‘s huge success with fans and at the box office, it’s no wonder that she made the top 10!

2. Kato Megumi, Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend

While fans usually like unique heroines, Megumi’s charm lies in her ordinariness. In fact, she’s so popular that she also ranked third in the poll for anime characters who would make a good wife! Saekano currently has a movie in the making, so there’s still plenty to look forward to.

1. Sagiri Izumi, Eromanga Sensei

Finally, 1st goes to none other than Izumi Sagiri, the titular heroine of Eromanga Sensei! A shut-in middle school student and a skilled illustrator, Sagiri helps in illustrating her brother Masamune’s light novels under the pen name Eromanga Sensei. She specializes in drawing cute girls, one time even using her classmate Megumi in underwear as her model. An OVA is in store for fans this year, so make sure to watch out for more Sagiri!

With so many great female characters, it’s difficult to narrow it down to just ten. Did your favorite heroine manage to make the list?
