Cardcaptor Sakura is a manga created by CLAMP and is one of the most popular shoujo ma from the late ’90s. The story follows Sakura Kinomoto, a 10-year-old girl who accidentally unleashes the mystical Clow Cards. Since the cards pose a great danger to the world, a guardian named Kerberos tasks Sakura with finding the scattered cards.
Clear Card Chapter is a sequel, which began serialization in June 2016. It takes place after the first anime. [Highlight for spoilers: Sakura and friends graduate to Junior High. Everyone is finally together in a new school but a new adventure is set in motion after Sakura has a mysterious dream with clear cards and person she’s never met before. The manga features the line “When all cards are aligned, that’s not the ending, that is the beginning of the ending”. This indicates that the Clear Card arc might be the finale for Cardcaptor Sakura.]
The voice cast from the first Cardcaptor Sakura series will reprise their original roles, and most of the old production staff are working on Clear Card Chapter.
