With just a couple of days until the release of the first film in ufotable’s (Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai) anime adaptation of the Heaven’s Feel route in Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night visual novel, Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel – I .presage flower, artists and illustrators at Type-Moon have begun counting down the days till the movie’s release with special illustrations.
A 7 day countdown has already begun and there are only 2 days left until Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel – I .presage flower releases in theatres around Japan on October 14th. Every day a brand new speciall illustration is produced and released to celebrate the first film’s release. Each illustration is done by a different Type-Moon artists. Here are the released countdown images:
- 7 days to go – Keiken-chi
- 6 days remaining – Ishida Akira
- 5 days left – Shinjirou
- 4 days to go – Azuma Tou
- 3 days left – Hiroshi Hiroyama
The film will also be getting a North American release from November 3rd. The film will be out in over 25 cinemas across 13 states, with more locations to be announced at a later date. Tomonori Sudou (Kara no Kyoukai: Mirai Fukuin) will direct the film trilogy with Takahiro Miura (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Fate/Zero) producing the series’ storyboards.
Japanese pop singer Aimer will be performing the film’s main theme song. She has performed theme songs for various anime, including the recent Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works adaptation.
Fate/stay night is a visual novel released by Type-Moon for the PC in 2004, and is the first in their Fate series. The visual novel was very successful and claimed the title of highest selling visual novel in that year. 2006 saw two adaptations of the game, a manga by Datto Nishiwaki and an anime series by Studio Deen. Additionally in that year, a light novel series titled Fate/Zero was written by Gen Urobuchi. It is a prequel to the visual novels, set 10 years prior. An anime and manga adaptation of Fate/Zero were created, with the manga written by Urobuchi himself in 2011 and the anime being animated by ufotable. A second season of Fate/Zero was also produced. ufotable produced a new Fate/stay night anime based on the Unlimited Blade Works route and is producing a Fate/stay night film based on the Heaven’s Feel Route.

Raised by a mysterious sorcerer after the horrific death of his parents, Shiro Emiya has only just begun to help others using the small tidbits of magic that he’s learned. The anime adaptation of Fate/stay night – Heaven’s Feel will consist of 3 movies, with the first film Fate/stay night – Heaven’s Feel: .presage flower, releasing in cinemas across Japan on October 14. The film be released in North America on November 3.
