Kohei Horikoshi has never been shy about sharing how American comics influenced My Hero Academia. Now things are about to get real:
My Hero Academia and Avengers: Civil War is hosting an official cross-promotion collaboration! The team-up is set to promote Avengers: Civil War‘s April 27 premiere and My Hero Academia Season 3.
Six videos where produced comparing My Hero Academia characters to their respective Avengers member. The videos are in Japanese, but brief explanations will follow:
Captain America x Izuku Midoriya
Midoriya understands Captain America’s sense of justice since they both want to help others and overcame stacked odds to gain their powers.
Iron Man x Katsuki Bakugo
Bakugo feels Iron Man is an annoying old, rich man, but he acknowledges Iron Man’s powerful suit and flying abilities.
Black Widow x Ochaco Uraraka
Uraraka admires Black Widow’s calmness, strength, and her hidden caring attitude. Uraraka hopes to become a beautiful and strong hero like Black Widow one day.
Doctor Strange x Tenya Iida
Iida feels that Strange’s past as a doctor and his aversion to killing is highly admirable.
Thor x Shoto Todoroki
Todoroki says that he has a lot in common with Thor: both have elemental powers and “heroic” fathers.
Hulk and All Might
All Might feels that Bruce Banner is the kindest Avenger, but he transforms into the powerful Hulk when agitated. Izuku interjects that All Might and Banner have similar personalities and share the ability to change between two forms.
