Fate/EXTRA Last Encore finally has revealed its theme songs, both newly composed for the series! The opening theme (yet to be titled) will be performed by Nishikawa Takanori, better known by his stage name T.M.Revolution. The ending theme, “Tsuki to Hanataba”, will be sung by Sayuri, who also goes by the name Sanketsu Shoujo Sayuri (“Hypoxia Girl Sayuri”).
Nishikawa needs little introduction, as he’s been around the scene for over 20 years (yet he hardly seems to age), making music for titles including Rurouni Kenshin, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Spider Man, Sengoku Basara, and Valvrave the Liberator. He also fronts the rock band abingdon boys school.
The opening single will come out on Mar. 7 from Epic Records Japan, and it will be the first single to release under Nishikawa’s own name.
Sayuri, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming musician who describes herself as a 2.5-dimensional parallel singer-songwriter. She released her first single “Mikazuki” in 2015 at age 19, and her first album, “Mikazuki no Koukai” just came out this May.
Most of her songs focus on finding her place in the world, but in her new song “Tsuki to Hanataba”, she expresses how she found it through connecting with others, while also alluding to Saber’s feelings for Hakuno.
Sayuri’s sixth single, “Tsuki to Hanataba” will release on Feb. 28 and will come in three versions: first-press limited edition with three tracks and bonus full-length DVD with the music video, limited edition with three tracks including the ending version and a DVD featuring the creditless ending, and regular edition with two tracks. All versions include a random bonus character card, and they all come with different B-side songs.
