It was announced on Twitter by creator Hiro Mashima that popular Shounen series Fairy Tail will be airing its final season in Autumn this year. The original manga began serialising in 2006, and since then it has gone on to receive an anime series that has currently run for 8 seasons starting in 2009.

But, it’s not all sad news for Fairy Tail fans as two spin off mangas have also been announced! One of these has also been confirmed to be a sequel to the hit series. However, it has not yet been confirmed if Mashima will be drawing with of the new series or if he’ll just be supervising their production.

Story details and titles are being kept a secret for the time being, but the new series will begin June 27th 2018.
